MEMORIAL PARK
- GRANITE FALLS, MN -
Just south of Granite Falls stands an outcropping of what is claimed to be the oldest exposed rock in the world, formed nearly 4 billion years ago.
Chunks of this granite were blasted away in the early 1900’s to build Highway 23, which connects Duluth to the southwest corner of Minnesota.
Trail Source used some of these huge pieces of granite to create two stair sets, connecting Memorial Park to nearby historic pioneer dwellings and downtown Granite Falls.
